As part of the fight against the spread of coronavirus COVID-19, the RTA has decided to ban the use of minibuses in Dubai. The ban expiration date for these vehicles will be announced later, it will depend on the current situation.

To ensure public safety and prevent the spread of the virus, minibuses in which groups of passengers are transported were recognized as an unsafe mode of transport. The corresponding circular was sent to all transport companies and bus rental companies. In the document, transport organizers are urged to stop the use of minibuses starting March 26 and continue to do so until further orders.

The authorities of Dubai have already implemented a wide range of various measures to ensure the safety of passengers who are transported by both public and private transport. The main principles of the steps taken were: ensuring distance between people and avoiding close contacts that contribute to the spread of the virus, especially contacts of large groups of people, as well as constant disinfection procedures both in the transport itself and in public spaces.
