Dubai authorities have allowed the resumption of conventions and exhibitions with adherence to preventive measures.

The Dubai Tourism and Commercial Marketing Department has announced the resumption of conventions and exhibitions in the emirate. It is noted that the Department of Tourism will continue to monitor the situation and periodically report changes after consulting the competent authorities of the emirate.

According to the circular sent out by the department, the following activities will be allowed:
– Local meetings, intensive tours, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) – from September 15, 2020;
– International meetings, intensive tours, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) – from October 1, 2020;
– Leisure and other events – from September 15, 2020;
– Weddings and private parties remain prohibited until further notice;
– Nightclubs will remain closed until further notice.

The circular states that organizers and participants of events must follow the principle of social distancing. In particular, the safe distance between people should be at least two meters on each side for indoor events. For example, in concert halls, only every third seat can be occupied, including VIP zones.

In addition, organizers must ensure that the principle of social distance is observed at entrances and exits, as well as in queues at the checkout. At the same time, the online purchase of tickets is encouraged. Spectators must wear masks, which are allowed to be removed after taking a seat.

Any contact between artists and spectators remains prohibited. Also, only ready-to-eat and packaged food will be sold at events. Concert halls must be thoroughly disinfected before and after events.
