Children and Seniors Receive a Ban on Visiting Malls in UAE - Coming Soon in UAE
6 May 2020

In connection with preventive measures to combat coronavirus, the UAE authorities decided on restrictions on visiting malls. Visits to malls are prohibited for children under 12 and older people over 60.

By order of the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority, in order to maintain public health and safety, these categories of community representatives should refrain from visiting shopping areas where there is a danger of contact with a large number of people. The ban applies to visits to shopping malls, supermarkets and cooperative societies. Also, children and the elderly cannot visit retail stores located outside shopping centers.

Such measures were taken in connection with the resumption of the work of shopping centers in the UAE. Their functioning during a pandemic should be subject to a number of rules and be as safe as possible for visitors and workers. Protecting the most vulnerable segments of the population is one of the measures to ensure public safety.
