12 April 2020

Thanks to COVID-19  testing centres, over 12,000 tests for coronavirus have been carried out in UAE during the past couple of days.

There have been opened thirteen new COVID-19 drive-through testing centres across the UAE, after the huge success of the first drive-in centre at Zayed Sports City, Abu Dhabi. Under the directives of Mohamed bin Zayed, within 10 days SEHA opened 13 additional COVID-19 drive-through testing facilities across emirates to provide the community’s health and safety services.

To ensure constant work across the 14 centers, there have been involved over 630 qualified medical professionals and medical staff. The centres will give priority to senior citizens; pregnant women; people of determination; people with chronic diseases; and people with COVID-19 symptoms, for whom the testing is free.

Bookings must be made in advance by calling 8001717 Estijaba centre, or through the SEHA smart application. It takes five minutes for a medical worker to collect a swab from your nostrils and then, you can expect results within 48 hours. Precautionary exams can be taken at a cost of AED 370 subject to an initial assessment by SEHA.
