Dubai residents can now use their Emirates ID cards to pass through immigration, when arriving at the Dubai International Airport – Terminal 3.
Emirates ID card holders will be able to use their ID to pass through the airport’s Emirates electronic gates (e-gates). Better yet, the card can be used without having to pre-register or pay any fees – all residents need is a valid Emirates ID card.
The General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs Dubai (GDRFA) has activated the service, which can currently only be used at the DXB Terminal 3 arrival wing.
There are a total of 28 e-gates in Terminal 3, all of which can now be used by residents. However, this is only the first stage, and residents will soon be able to use the card at all Terminals 1, 2 and 3 for both Arrivals and Departures.
